Since 2018, Tim has held the position of Adjunct Professor at Augsburg University, educating both undergraduate and graduate students in business law and strategic management. His teaching encompasses a range of topics, including the intricacies of formal business structures, internal management, and leadership development. He also delves into the pros and cons of different corporate organizational frameworks, the significance of teamwork (including virtual teams), shareholder and owner relations, and the crucial role of cultural awareness and practices in business.

Previously, from 2001 to 2017, Tim was the General Counsel for a large, privately-owned company with over 1000 employees and various subsidiaries. His role included membership on the Board of Directors, the Corporate Senior Management Team, and leading the Corporate Security Group. As General Counsel, Tim managed all legal affairs, corporate transactions, and legal cost control. He provided direct legal advice to all company levels and oversaw external legal services. In his capacity as Chief Security Officer, he was in charge of the company’s security vision, strategy, implementation, coordination, and critical incident response. 
 
From 1993 to 2001, Tim served as the elected District Attorney in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. In this role, he led numerous civil and criminal trials, John Doe proceedings, and Coroner’s Inquests. His responsibilities extended beyond the courtroom to include participation in various state and local government and regulatory committees. Notably, Tim played a significant role in the enactment and implementation of the Violence Against Women Act, later becoming a certified Wisconsin DOJ Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Law Enforcement Training Specialist. His efforts contributed to Chippewa County being among the first in the U.S. to receive Federal VAWA funding for a specialized prosecution unit focusing on domestic and sexual violence. Additionally, from 2001 to 2015, he served as the Chippewa County Supplemental Court Commissioner, overseeing bond hearings, warrant reviews, and drafting opinions on petitions and lawsuits from county inmates. 
 
Throughout his career, Tim has been a member of various private corporate and industry boards and round tables. He has also imparted his knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, teaching legal research and writing.

Tim, along with his wife Rachel and their children live in Saint Paul.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, MN, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List and actively served as a Ramsey County Guardian ad Litem. His pursuit of legal knowledge took him to the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, where he studied Comparative Criminal and Civil Justice. Prior to his legal education, Tim completed his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Boston University, MA, also making the Dean’s List and participating in the university’s Men’s Hockey team.

Tim’s professional affiliations are extensive. He is a member of both the Minnesota and Wisconsin State Bar Associations, having served on numerous committees for the latter. Tim served as a Director for the American Apparel and Footwear Association in Washington, D.C., contributing to various committees including the Brand Protection Council and the Customs and Governmental Relations Committee.
